Using automated bots on prop firm accounts
Our bots run on any NinjaTrader-connected account, including most futures prop firms. Here's how to use them without breaking your firm's rules.
Why traders automate evaluations
Most evaluations fail on one bad day: a revenge trade, oversized position, or trading through news. A bot doesn't get tilted. It takes the same setup at the same size and stops when its daily limit is hit.
Check your firm's rules first
Every firm sets its own rules, and they change often. Before you run any bot, check:
- Automation: whether automated strategies are allowed on evaluation and funded accounts.
- Drawdown type: trailing, end-of-day or static, and the daily loss limit.
- Contract limits: the max contracts for your account size.
- News rules: some firms restrict trading around major releases.
- Consistency rules: limits on how much of your profit can come from one day.
- Hedging: never run opposite positions in related markets (for example MNQ and MES) at the same time. Firms treat that as hedging.
Recommended settings for evaluations
- Use micro contracts and keep size small relative to your drawdown.
- Set the bot's daily loss limit below your firm's daily limit.
- Run one bot per account so results stay easy to read.
- Use a VPS so a dropped connection doesn't leave a position unmanaged.
Firms our members trade with
Our bots run on any account available in NinjaTrader 8, including accounts at Apex, Topstep, Bulenox, Take Profit Trader, My Funded Futures and Lucid. We are not affiliated with any of these firms.
EvalSprint: the one-shot option
Some traders would rather pass or reset an evaluation in one morning than grind it for weeks. EvalSprint takes one full-size trade at the 9:30 AM ET New York open, with the target set to your evaluation's profit goal and the stop at its drawdown. It is high risk by design: many attempts fail. Use it only on evaluations you can afford to reset, never on funded accounts, and only where your firm's rules allow full-size single trades.
Built for traders who keep blowing evals on one bad day.
