Who it's for

Traders who want gold exposure alongside index futures, with one clean trade a day.

§ 01 How it trades

The rules, in order

  1. Records the Asia session high and low (6:00 PM – 3:00 AM ET).
  2. The first 15-minute close above the high goes long; the first close below the low goes short. Only the first break counts.
  3. Stop at the middle of the Asia range, target at 1.5 times the risk.
  4. Skips the day if the stop would be more than 45 points away. No new signals after 9:30 AM ET; closes by 11:00 AM ET.

§ 02 Market context

The Asian range method

Bullion Break records gold's high and low for the whole Asia session, 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM ET. When London takes over, it waits for the first 15-minute close outside that box and trades in the direction of the break. Only the first break counts.

The stop sits at the middle of the Asia range, so risk depends on how wide Asia was. When the stop would be more than 45 points away, it skips the day instead of taking an oversized risk.

When this setup struggles

  • A break that fails and returns to the range, which hits the mid-range stop.
  • Wide Asia sessions. These are skipped above 45 points of risk, which means fewer trades.
  • Late breaks. It takes no new signals after 9:30 AM ET and closes by 11:00 AM ET.

§ 03 Risk and settings

Risk rules

  • One trade per day.
  • Daily loss limit, $500 by default, adjustable.
  • Skips wide-stop days automatically.
  • Flat by 11:00 AM ET.

Before you turn it on

  • Load it on a 1-minute MGC or GC chart. It adds the 15-minute series itself.
  • One trade per day.
  • The daily loss limit defaults to $500 and is adjustable.
  • Target is 1.5 times the risk.

Contract size and the other inputs are adjustable in the bot's settings. The defaults are the settings we tested with.
