Who it's for

Traders who want to join strong gold moves without chasing the candle.

§ 01 How it trades

The rules, in order

  1. Looks for a 5-minute bar with 1.5 times normal range and volume that closes near its high above the last 10 bars (or the mirror for shorts).
  2. Places a limit order at a 40% pullback of that bar, good for 15 minutes.
  3. Stop 1 tick beyond the far end of the signal bar, target at 1.5 times the risk.
  4. Unfilled orders are cancelled and any trade is closed at 3:00 PM ET.

§ 02 Market context

Joining a push without chasing it

Gold Reload looks for a strong 5-minute bar: 1.5 times normal range and volume, closing near its high above the last 10 bars (or the mirror for shorts). Instead of buying the close, it places a limit order at a 40% pullback of that bar, good for 15 minutes.

If price never pulls back, the order is cancelled and nothing happens. The stop sits 1 tick beyond the far end of the signal bar, and the target is 1.5 times that risk.

When this setup struggles

  • The pullback keeps going through the signal bar, which hits the stop.
  • Strong moves that never retrace 40%. The order expires unfilled.
  • Choppy days with several weak signals.

§ 03 Risk and settings

Risk rules

  • One position or working order at a time.
  • Daily loss limit, $500 by default, adjustable.
  • Flat by 3:00 PM ET.

Before you turn it on

  • Load it on a 1-minute MGC or GC chart. It adds the 5-minute series itself.
  • One position or working order at a time. Several trades a day are possible.
  • The daily loss limit defaults to $500 and is adjustable.
  • Unfilled orders are cancelled and any trade is closed at 3:00 PM ET.

Contract size and the other inputs are adjustable in the bot's settings. The defaults are the settings we tested with.

§ 04 Questions

Gold Reload: common questions

What happens if price doesn't pull back?

The limit order expires after 15 minutes and no trade is taken.

How many trades a day?

One at a time, and several per day are possible.
