Who it's for

Nasdaq traders who want momentum entries on a pullback instead of a chase.

§ 01 How it trades

The rules, in order

  1. Looks for a 5-minute bar with 1.5 times normal range and volume that closes near its high above the last 10 bars (or the mirror for shorts).
  2. Places a limit order at a 40% pullback of that bar, good for 15 minutes.
  3. Stop 1 tick beyond the far end of the signal bar, target equal to the risk.
  4. Unfilled orders are cancelled and any trade is closed at 3:00 PM ET.

§ 02 Market context

Momentum entries on the Nasdaq

Nasdaq Reload uses the same signal as Gold Reload on the Nasdaq micro or mini: a 5-minute bar with 1.5 times normal range and volume that closes strongly beyond the last 10 bars. It then waits at a 40% pullback with a limit order that lasts 15 minutes.

The Nasdaq often moves more in points than other index futures, so the stop just beyond the signal bar can be wide on volatile days. The target equals the risk.

When this setup struggles

  • Reversals that run straight through the signal bar.
  • Fast markets that never give the 40% pullback.
  • Wide signal bars on volatile days mean more dollars at risk per contract.

§ 03 Risk and settings

Risk rules

  • One position or working order at a time.
  • Daily loss limit, $500 by default, adjustable.
  • Flat by 3:00 PM ET.

Before you turn it on

  • Load it on a 1-minute MNQ or NQ chart. It adds the 5-minute series itself.
  • One position or working order at a time.
  • The daily loss limit defaults to $500 and is adjustable.
  • Flat by 3:00 PM ET.

Contract size and the other inputs are adjustable in the bot's settings. The defaults are the settings we tested with.

§ 04 Questions

Nasdaq Reload: common questions

What's the difference from Nasdaq Blitz?

Nasdaq Reload enters at a 40% pullback with a stop past the signal bar and a 1× risk target. Nasdaq Blitz enters at the 50% midpoint with a fixed 35-point target and a 50-point stop.

Micro or mini?

Either MNQ or NQ. Testing on micros first keeps the dollar risk smaller.

When is it flat?

Unfilled orders are cancelled and any trade is closed at 3:00 PM ET.
